time goes by so slowly...not!

It's June already! I've been so busy lately, doing nothing particular... I've managed to visit a Flea market, found two sewing baskets full of needles, bobbins and such, lovely bronze vessel for Turkish coffee and useful old book about sailing written in German language. The market took place in an Austrian village nearby, the weather was sunny and windy, a great first day of summer! Oh, and i just read in the newspaper that summer here in Europe is now starting ten days earlier then back in 80's!

I had another sewing attack last week , kind of "i must sew something or i'll explode". I should have joined the Wardrobe refashion 'coz that's exactly what i do! Two old (but never worn due to weird pattern) dresses were transformed into t-shirts and then another two t-shirts were sewn out of fabric scraps. I have a habit of buying more jersey fabric than a certain pattern is requiring, so there's always enough left for a t-shirt! I'm starting to fantasize about heaps and piles of linen fabrics in all kinds of natural colours...it goes so well with summer.

My last two weekends were quite hard-working! In the first one darling and i were painting iron tubes for a huge fence, it was hot, the paint was too runny, the fumes were stinky but the whole atmosphere was great as we were doing this in an old railway warehouse right next to the lovely countryside railway station. The were almost no human beings just us, a barking dog, some goats, many birds and the whispers of wind... and the trains! Another lovely day.

Last weekend we've been at the seaside, unstepping the mast, mounting new navigational lights and new cable (the old cable was a pain in the ass, ding-donging even if the sea was totally flat). I got my back nasty sunburned while polishing the mast, at least the stick is all shiny now.
